The North Course is an 18-hole, parkland layout with tree-lined fairways and undulating greens that can run devilishly fast, especially right before and after the Alameda Commuters Golf Tournament (The Commuters is a 72-hole event with a storied history that plays three of its four rounds on the North).
A little history ...
The North Course is officially named the "Earl Fry North Course." It was originally designed in 1927 by William Park Bell and partially redesigned by Desmond Muirhead in 1967. It plays a little shorter than the South Course and has more doglegs. Water comes into play on 13 of the 18 holes.
